Prolotherapy - stimulating the body’s natural healing mechanisms, with the goal of alleviating pain and improving function.

Proliferation Therapy (Prolotherapy, in short) is a recognized orthopaedic procedure that stimulates the body’s healing processes to strengthen and repair injured and painful joints and connective tissue. It is based on the fact that when ligaments or tendons (connective tissue) are stretched or torn, the joint they are holding destabilizes and can become painful. Prolotherapy, with its unique ability to directly address the cause of the instability, can repair the weakened sites and produce new collagen tissue, resulting in permanent stabilization of the joint.

WHERE

ARE YOU

FEELING

PAIN?

Prolotherapy has the same basic concept as BMAC and PRP therapy -- to naturally stimulate the regeneration of healthy tissue. A concentrated solution of dextrose (sugar water), saline (salt water), and a mixture of biological components are taken from your blood and injected directly into the damaged tissues. The injection we give you will trigger the production of growth factors, and launch a controlled inflammation. This will stimulate the immune system’s healing mechanisms to build strong collagen, tendons, and other cartilage. Together, they form the connective tissue that helps repair damage from inside joints and bones.

HOW CAN IT HELP ME?

WHAT ARE THE BENEFITS?

  • Prolotherapy is a conservative, low-risk, non-invasive treatment. It can heal many types of musculoskeletal pain and orthopedic conditions like tendon injuries, degenerative joint conditions, and many more -- anywhere in the body!

  • There is no lengthy and possibly painful rehabilitation period that normally follows up traditional surgeries and join replacements. Even minor surgeries accelerate the cascade of degeneration that can lead to osteoarthritis.

  • It can eliminate the need for more aggressive treatments such as long-term medication, and when compared to surgery, patients are far less vulnerable to the serious risks involved, such as infections and blood clots.

  • Prolotherapy supports long-term healing of your injury, rather than quick, temporary relief from your symptoms.
